on ossington
I already find the silence of winter.
sneakers on pavement and
back denim threads.
leaves grating underneath.

cabs passing,
bicycle lights flicker
with pressured breath
and too many cigarettes
but just enough beer.

uncertain footsteps
dark figures looming,
walking home, saturday morning.
