Office Christmas

tick tocking teardrop falling
tap duct tip tapping
in a slow one two
one two..

I sit expelling.
Expunging.

A mirage of tin walls swirling
turning colours.

A breakfast caesar and two cigarettes later.
Christmas at the office

blemishes liquefied,
slipped between chilled fingers,
the boards they sit on

plunged into the warm sand.

Words In Passing (waiting outside a sandwich shop in the evening)

"But yes i would say so
without question read the bible
if you want to pursue
theological studies well I was
thinking that but then when
he said what a jelly rag what
is his fashion, murmurs you
never fuck with china though. The
things I was chasing though.
Someones reggea through an
open window queen street
wish I had my shirt on and it
continues clickitty clack
bike passes by
cigarettes almost done
11 o’clock philipino.
Rumble motorcycle Jarett!
We tossed him down the drain.
It’s so funny quiero second
what is this place.
or some shit I’ve been drinking
some tanked some shit.
He’s afraid of directing
I don’t know man
there’s been some party
don’t think about it
stay out of trouble
god loves you!
Alright I hope"

crushed dried leaf casings
jingling keys you
pass by,
bike legged beautiful.
riding the sidewalk home,

we never meet(met).

Words In Passing, Ronnie's, Kensington Market 2010/10/23

"And then I thought about it
and I whatever with the visual and..
there's six hundred people!
And andre, well get your hours!
Do something with your life!
All that I did then it's cuz...
what did you think of yourself
I feel so.

I don't know what just happened,
bunch of static motherfuckers.
...Success!"

Walk

on ossington
I already find the silence of winter.
sneakers on pavement and
back denim threads.
leaves grating underneath.

cabs passing,
bicycle lights flicker
with pressured breath
and too many cigarettes
but just enough beer.

uncertain footsteps
dark figures looming,
walking home, saturday morning.

another walk another dead rhyme (2006)

i cant let you haunt me
walking darkened streets
passing that place.
i found those books,
that box on the sidewalk
the irony of you liking anne rice
well she's out at the curb
with smashed wine bottles
discarded pizza crusts

stepping past,
i want to leave you there
wine and cheese,
broken glass

this is you
and i step around.

cute daisy on fire

im in love with a girl
but i dont know her name
im in love with a girl
but she has no face
makes no sound

she's the streetcar coasting
but you cant hear it
the crossing-guard smoking grey
grate-sleeping homeless
steel erecting plasticity
and legends dying.
she comes around when the church steeples
are no longer the tallest in town.

the frowning disillusioned
the upturned palms
the angry screamers
the closed fist
the digitized tones
and the head full of ecstasy

she's the keyboard reborn
yesterdays scrutiny
and a new sanity

the music is dying
and we're all killing ourselves
in this age of everything
but she's around
try to find her,
but she makes no sound.

..and lest I forget

oh oh i oh i oh

why wont you,
why oh, oh i know,
but won't you let me go.

eating cereal at my childhood home
reminds me that as a kid i'd use the big spoon.

a smaller delivery vehicle...

Song from an old apartment

across the balcony
down the hall from me
who lives in my building
he runs his little white dog
down the hall
he claps
then runs himself
wootah! he yells
and i swear he just jumpkicked.
i see him through the peep hole
i wonder if he smells pot
hes wearing a red tshirt
he claps again
they race back down the hall
eating fish and chips
drinking a beer
I sink back into the couch
it's around 3AM.

wake ups to a body of text

breaking the body of garlic
wake ups to text
power failures and the workers policy
last nights pasta
a cup of coffee
and the mornings constipation

a day later
after a night before
aching
slinking
into compatible bliss
headphones and a
steel liquid
fueled
cans
mugs
with a hundred smiling faces

at least i'm getting paid for this,
breaking a body with garlic.

A brief view/ A work in progress

2010/08/11

like yesterdays newspaper
riding the breeze.
floating, crashing into the concrete,
drifting under car tires
falling in puddles
losing print
meanings
torn to clean
dog shit off stilettos
I've been born to
scribbled notes on my back
a phone number for a roomate
written across my header
into another puddle i go
dried by the sun
tattered my pages lie
now shoved against a brick wall
rains fall against me
from the broke eavesdrop above
weeds flourish
through many holes
perforations
(and the crack in the wall)

a few months again

i look across at hamilton lights
it has been a muggy toronto night.

i wonder where you are
through the open balcony window

snoring and talking in her sleep
hearing the old lady next door,

some nights
i fear you more.

i wonder who you are now.
revisiting lights of old,
floating around in a digital universe.

reminded of the infinity
and then we're gone.

who she used to be,
at that time.

four years ago.
haunting myself.?
picking at the scab..is it a scab?
is it a scar
i know somethings there
you/i might not be able to see it.

the thought certainly is
but fleeting, undefined
illusion?
are we growing up?

four years ago,
some places five,
is an eternity.
logically
it's about 5 per cent of a lifetime,
that being if we live to eighty..

i think of our deep red curtains
red wine and senility..

this coldest summer on record
but with
the heat revisited
a portion of our time here
has filled me with joy.

receiving your number the past week
surprised and yet didn't
a regular progression
we're both still alive i see,

I for one don't know about you,
but sometimes at least momentarily
cast my thoughts on
autumn's sweater weather.

Beyond the chocolate factory

I woke up quite late today; too late to get to work on time. I then decided on a little urban exploration/photographic journey. I've always passed by this building either biking, walking or if I'm lucky getting a car ride somewhere: head out window, tongue dangling, yes like a dog; And I've always thought how cool it would be to check out the inside. Also, if you haven't yet, I highly prescribe a walk by the chocolate factory. It smells the smell of a thousand Aero bars melting on the best summer afternoon of your life.

------insert chocolate factory image here----- there we are...

Though it was raining and despite being pursued very slowly by security after a few minutes, I managed to only take a few shots, and can barely describe visually the awesomeness of this place. I now realize there's more to urban exploration than I had originally thought. Homework. You've got to do some preliminary scouting/observing to get the visual pudding your mind has promised. Although I got some imageratorial candy-bars, there's plenty more I could have gotten my grubby hands on had I known there really was security. Of the sweets I found here's whats left to share with you.

I had so little time there, I've even posted this poor excuse of an exposure to give you an idea of the place...

note in the background: security's crack squad of one I know now to avoid

Rexdale Revisit 2010 (a drive-by)

Family Day, Adrienne Chris and I went out to the Woodbine Mall in Etobicoke for reasons unknown... Being so close to where I once lived/schooled for three years I decided to take them on a sentimental journey just like the song!
